Wall to Wall Inspiration
Discover trending wall paint colors & the decorative wall plates to match
November 30, 2021From resolutions to renovations, every new year presents the opportunity to refresh both our selves and our spaces. And while this post can’t offer much help for goals like “less screen time” or “more exercise,” it does have plenty of ideas for how you can upgrade your home in ‘22. Starting with the walls.
After poring over the “color of the year” picks from top interior paint brands, the consensus is clear:
2022 is the year to go green…. Literally.
From Behr to Sherwin-Williams, the color experts have selected shades to pull nature’s most versatile hue into the home. Including airy tints as well as those earthy and grounded, and ranging from olive tones to those with undercurrents of blue, check out the year’s gorgeous greens and (their perfect wall plate partners from the adorne® Collection) below:
Behr
Touting the shade as “where a breath of fresh air meets a coat of fresh paint,” Behr selected this “uplifting” sea glass green for its remarkable sense of balance – calm, but alert; peaceful, with purpose. Lean into Breezeway’s light, graceful feel with white accents. Opt for soft with Powder White wall plates, or add a modern sheen with the Gloss White-on-White plate options.
Benjamin Moore
Described as a “gently shaded sage,” Benjamin Moore’s pick stays true to its botanical origins and plays well with most any other color, from floral brights and to your darker woods. Try this shade with the rich warmth of the Bronze or Matte Antique Copper wall plates. Or let the space bloom with plates that pop with color, like Carnival.
Glidden
“Spirited yet soothing.” Glidden’s honored color is ripe with energy – and who couldn’t use more of that – and can work as either a statement shade or a playful accent. Pair with creamier neutrals – like the screwless wall plates in True Linen, Greige, Satin Nickel or Satin Light Almond - for a timeless touch.
PPG
Referencing nature’s regrowth and resiliency, this gray-green is like a good house plant: it suits most any space and looks great in natural light. Play up the neutral undertones on this one. Consider pairing with plate options like Brushed Satin Brass or Coffee on the warmer side, or even the Rustic Grey wall plates for texture.
Sherwin-Williams
Another restorative green, with hints of gray and blue, this “chameleon” pick can be as modern as you want it to be, or as classic as a contemplative stroll through the woods. The Oil-Rubbed Bronze wall plates would be a great match here, as well as the Hubbardton Forge® Bronze options. Or go softer than those heavy metals with the stunning Golden Sands plates.
